## About the Role

We are seeking a talented Applied AI / GenAI Engineer to join a fast-growing, well-funded InsurTech company in Gurgaon. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on building and deploying production-grade AI applications. You will leverage Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI agents, and modern GenAI frameworks to solve real-world business problems and drive innovation within the insurance sector. ## What You’ll Do

- Design, build, and deploy scalable GenAI-powered applications and AI workflows.
- Develop robust RAG-based systems utilizing LLMs, embeddings, and vector databases.
- Construct and integrate AI agents and sophisticated agentic workflows.
- Work with LLM APIs from leading providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, or equivalent models.
- Develop and maintain scalable backend services and APIs to support AI applications.
- Implement advanced prompt engineering techniques, structured output generation, and LLM evaluation frameworks.
- Process and leverage unstructured data, including documents, policies, forms, and knowledge bases.
- Optimize AI applications for accuracy, latency, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
- Seamlessly integrate AI capabilities into existing products and critical business workflows.
- Collaborate effectively with Product, Engineering, and Business teams to translate complex use cases into tangible AI solutions.
- Monitor AI systems in production, ensuring continuous performance improvement and maintenance.

## What We’re Looking For

- 2–6 years of professional experience in software engineering, AI/ML, or applied AI.
- Strong proficiency in Python programming.
- Proven hands-on experience in building applications powered by LLMs / Generative AI.
- Demonstrated experience with RAG, embeddings, and vector databases.
- Familiarity with frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, or similar.
- Experience working with LLM APIs from providers like OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, or others.
- Solid understanding of REST APIs, database technologies, and backend development principles.
- Experience deploying applications on major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure, or similar).
- Exceptional problem-solving and debugging capabilities.
- Ability to manage the full lifecycle of an AI use case, from idea → prototype → production.

## Good to Have

- Experience building AI agents / agentic systems.
- Prior experience in the insurance, fintech, BFSI, or other regulated industries.
- Familiarity with document intelligence, OCR, or advanced NLP techniques.
- Knowledge of model evaluation, system observability, and LLMOps best practices.
- Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Proficiency with Python web frameworks like FastAPI.
